| | Connection Refused Error On Multiple Subnets Access 21st Century is a program that is ran across a network dependent upon TCP/IP protocol to communicate client request to the server. This issue is usually resolved by making sure the client machine and server are on the same subnet. Consult the remainder of this technical note for additional information. | | | The System Is Processing Request Error This error can be caused by improperly shutting the server down (such as through a crash) or by shutting the Access 21st Century Java process down incorrectly. An improper shut down of the server or stopping the Java process with the "java -killxxx" command will reveal itself through the presence of {*.jnl} files in the {Data} folder located in the Access 21st Century folder on the network drive. This issue can be resolved by properly stopping the java process. Consult the remainder of this technical note for additional information. | | | Connection Refused - Can Not Start Access Service Access 21st Century requires an Access service to start when on a Windows® Network. Data Execution Prevention (DEP) prevents programs loaded in the data memory from running, thus avoiding buffer overflow. This issue can be resolved by registering the Access 21st Century as an exception, thus allowing the Java Virtual Machine to run from Access 21st Century. Consult the remainder of this technical note for additional information. | | | High Server CPU Utilization The resources allocated to the Access 21st Century java server by default are too high when running on a Netware server. The server CPU utilization can be adjusted down 1-3% when the only app running on the server is Access 21st Century. This issue can be resolved by editing the local.properties. Consult the remainder of this technical note for additional information. | | | Installing Access 21st Century to Server Access 21st Century must be installed to the server. Full network administration rights and a through knowledge of the sites network is required to perform and maintain the installation of the Access 21st Century program. Consult the remainder of this technical note for additional information. | |
